Our client is a junior oil and gas company based in Calgary, Alberta with assets in the Western Canadian Sedimentary basin. They are currently recruiting for a strong technical accountant with an in-depth understanding of Operations Accounting.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervision of general accounting and joint venture staff
• Review of journal entries and accounts payable for accuracy and completeness
• Play a key role in any dispute resolution with Joint Venture partners and response to all JV Audit queries
• Month end procedures
• Compile all monthly operations accounting accruals
• Accounting system maintenance including master file maintenance for cost centers, vendors and DOIs
• Compile and record all revenue accounting
• Monthly analysis of operations results
• Assist with preparation of financial statements

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience with an Oil & Gas producer including background in Joint Venture Accounting.
• Ability to work independently
• Strong mentoring or supervisory skills
• Outstanding interpersonal skills are required to develop both internal and external relationships
